Step back in time and experience the charm of our private cottage nestled along the foothills of the Cape Breton Highlands National Park.   Whale tours, beaches, hiking trails, scenic vistas, wildlife and birding opportunities are just minutes away.

When you're not out exploring, you can enjoy hearty dinners, rainy day naps, books and board games, embracing the quintessential nostalgia of cottage living.  The large farmhouse kitchen is the heart of the home.  It’s central island invites leisurely cooking sessions, and heartfelt conversations.

Upstairs, four bedrooms offer peaceful retreats, with a combination of one queen, two double, and one single bed, accommodating up to five guests. In addition to the main-level 4-piece bathroom, a half bath upstairs provides added convenience for guests.

Outside, the cottage’s cozy front porch boasts a beautiful crab apple tree, and picturesque view of Robert’s Mountain, offering a comfortable spot to relax in Adirondak chairs.  Complete with a firepit, BBQ, and ambient lighting, it’s the perfect setting for creating treasured memories with loved ones.

The Old Salt was a fantastic place to base ourselves for a few days exploring the Cabot Trail. We went down both sides to Cheticamp and Igonish- both, no more than an hour’s drive. So much spectacular scenery rain or shine.
